How Edge Curriculum handles visitor data, cookies, third-party services, and reader correspondence.
This page describes how Edge Curriculum handles personal data. We are a small static publication; we collect very little. The policy below states the full set of categories.
Last updated: 2026-05-12.
Who we are
Edge Curriculum (edgecurriculum.com) is operated by Lumenwhite Media Holdings Pte Ltd, a Singapore-incorporated media-holding company. Mailing address: [TKTK: Singapore registered office address]. Data-protection inquiries: privacy@edgecurriculum.com.
What we collect
Server logs
When you visit edgecurriculum.com, our hosting infrastructure logs ordinary web-server information: your IP address, the page you visited, the time of the visit, your user agent, and the referring URL (if your browser sent one). Server logs are retained for up to 30 days for operational purposes (debugging, abuse mitigation) and then deleted or aggregated.
We do not use server logs to build profiles of individual visitors. We do not sell server-log data. We do not share server-log data with third parties except in the narrow case of responding to a binding legal request.
Newsletter subscribers
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We use it to send you the newsletter and nothing else.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter, or by emailing subscribe@edgecurriculum.com. Unsubscribed addresses are removed from our list within seven days.
We do not sell, rent, or share newsletter subscriber data with any third party.
Reader correspondence
When you email us at one of our published addresses (editors@, pitches@, press@, corrections@, tips@), we retain that correspondence for as long as it is professionally useful. We do not share correspondence with third parties without your consent, except in the narrow case of responding to a binding legal request.
Tips submitted to tips@edgecurriculum.com are handled with editorial discretion. We do not, by default, identify tipsters in published coverage, but tips are not equivalent to confidential source protection — see our Editorial Guidelines on anonymous sourcing.
What we do not collect
We deliberately do not collect a number of categories of data common in commercial publishing:
- No analytics tracking by default. We do not currently run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any equivalent third-party analytics tracker on this site.
- No advertising trackers. We do not run advertising, so we do not embed ad-network trackers.
- No social-platform pixels. We do not embed tracking pixels from social platforms.
- No reader profiles. We do not build profiles of individual readers from our server logs.
- No browsing-history tracking. We do not track visitors across multiple visits using cookies or fingerprinting.
Cookies
Edge Curriculum sets a small number of functional, first-party cookies (or equivalent browser storage) for the following purposes:
- Theme preference. When you toggle dark or light mode, we save your preference in browser local storage so the choice persists across visits.
- Reading list. When you save an article to your reading list, the saved list is held in browser local storage. It does not leave your device.
- Course tracker. When you mark a course in our Track tool, the marked status is held in browser local storage. It does not leave your device.
These are first-party storage entries — they are not cookies in the network sense, and they are not transmitted to our servers or to any third party. You can clear them at any time using your browser’s clear-site-data function.
We do not currently use third-party cookies. We do not currently run a cookie banner because we do not currently set tracking cookies. If that changes, this page will be updated and a banner will appear.
Third-party services
Edge Curriculum uses a small set of third-party services to operate the site.
- Hosting infrastructure. Our site is hosted on Railway. Railway maintains its own privacy policy.
- Fonts. We load typeface files from Google Fonts. Google’s font-serving infrastructure receives the request URL and your IP address as part of normal HTTP delivery. Google’s privacy policy covers this transaction.
- Search. Our on-site search is powered by Pagefind, which runs entirely client-side. Pagefind does not send search queries to any server.
- Email correspondence. Email sent to and from edgecurriculum.com addresses is handled by an email provider whose privacy policy covers that transaction.
We do not embed third-party scripts, social-media embed widgets, or commenting platforms. We do not have a third-party comment system.
Data retention
- Server logs: Up to 30 days, then deleted or aggregated.
- Newsletter subscribers: Retained until you unsubscribe.
- Reader correspondence: Retained as long as professionally useful.
